Cisco Systems, Inc. got downgraded

Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) received a stock rating downgrade from BofA/Merrill on Apr-05-16. In a note to investors, the firm issued a Neutral rating and lowered the target price on the stock from $27 to $30. The analysts previously had a Buy rating on the stock.


Analysts have a consensus target price of $28.68 in the 12-month period. The price objective is 3.99% higher than the recent closing price of $27.58. The 52-week price range is $22.26-$29.00 and the company has a market capitalization of $139.83 billion. Analysts covering the shares maintain a consensus Strong Buy rating, according to Zacks Investment Research. 2 analyst has rated the stock with a sell rating, 6 has assigned a hold rating, 1 says it’s a buy, and 17 have assigned a strong buy rating to the company.


On March 22, 2016 Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) has completed its acquisition of Jasper, a privately held company based in Santa Clara, Calif. Jasper’s industry-leading cloud-based Internet of Things (IoT) service platform enables companies of all sizes to rapidly and cost-effectively launch, manage and monetize IoT services on a global scale.


With the acquisition, Jasper forms the new IoT Cloud Business Unit within Cisco. Cisco will also build upon Jasper’s IoT service platform and add new services including advanced IoT security, support for additional connectivity options like enterprise Wi-Fi and low-power wide-area network (LPWAN), and analytics solutions.
