Airgas, Inc. (ARG) on 16 February, 2016 announced that it will exhibit and demonstrate specialty gas products and technologies and host an informational course at the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (PITTCON) at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA from March 6 – 10, 2016.

The course, Gases and Gas Delivery Systems for Analytical Applications (Course #142), will be taught by Frank Kandl, Director of Business Development – Airgas Specialty Gas Equipment, and Reginald Bartram, Gas Chromatography Consultant for Airgas, on Wednesday, March 9. Attendees will learn how to properly select all necessary components for an analytical system that uses gases to create consistent results and eliminate the need to rerun a sample, maintain quality baselines, and reduce operating costs.

“Our customers are always striving to optimize their results and find efficiencies where possible,” said Kandl. “With this course, attendees will understand how to select the proper gases to ensure consistency and repeatability in applications while reducing operating expenses, as well as how to configure the most effective gas delivery system and component selection.”

Airgas will also exhibit and demonstrate unique products and technologies, including the Supelcoat line of components for gas delivery systems, created by the Sigma-Aldrich Co., LLC and available through Airgas. The Supelcoat coating prevents any interaction of reactive trace gas species with “wetted” internal surfaces of fittings, hoses and valves. This coating inhibits the interaction of low concentration corrosive and volatile compounds in the calibration gas mixtures used in critical environmental testing, plus in other applications where all the sample delivery components should be totally inert.
